Welcome to UX Booster. I am setting it up because I know how hard it is to start as a UX designer.
You are probably looking for knowledge and guidance. The Internet is full of wonderful things, but the number of choices can be overwhelming. Where to start? What to read? Who to follow?
I can help.
My name is Wojtek Kutyla, and I live in Edinburgh, UK. I am creating this blog after almost a decade of observing the community of junior UX designers. I was one of them, too. It started a long time ago when I decided that programming wasn’t for me. Since then, I have progressed through the ranks, from being an enthusiastic Usability Consultant, through running the UX team at a successful Scottish agency, and finally, to running my own consultancy and training organisation.
But what gives me the unique perspective is the fact that, since 2014, I have been blogging for and training junior UX designers in Poland (more than 400 went through my hands-on open training sessions). Additionally, I taught short and long courses at CodeClan, the first Digital Skills Academy in Scotland. I observed career development of many junior UXers and other digital sector starters. I know it’s not easy to be one of them.
I hope that UX Booster will help you start in UX. I believe that we all can learn from each other. I’ll do my best to give you free stuff such as webinars, presentations and blog articles that will hopefully inspire you to persevere on your journey.
In time, I will probably extend my programme of paid training. I am sure you’ll benefit from that, too. In the meantime, make sure that you don’t miss anything.
The best way to keep an eye on what I do at UX Booster is to subscribe to my newsletter. I never spam — all things I send are practical and, often, funny.
Have a great time here and beyond. You rock.
